Description
Born out of the Colgate Writers’ Conference, this collection of essays brings together a diverse group of gifted authors and teachers who are passionate about the art of writing. The authors share their knowledge, experience, and inspiration gathered from years of practicing and studying their craft. Topics covered range from the practical, such as how to attract an editor or agent, to more theoretical concerns such as transforming the texture of thought and emotion into text. Both veteran writers and novices will find this anthology to be an indispensable resource.

Author
Matthew Leone is executive director of the Colgate Writers’ Conference and a professor in the humanities at Colgate University. His scholarly work and publications include investigations of the rhetoric of laughter, of D. H. Lawrence, and of Bakhtin’s dialogic notions of novelistic discourse. He is associate director of Colgate University’s Institute of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
