The Journal of Turkish Literature (JTL) is the first and only international scholarly journal devoted in its entirety to the subject of Turkish literature.
Description
Encompassing the complete literature of the Turks, among the oldest of living
literatures, the annual Journal embraces a geography that reaches from East Central Asia to Europe and a history that covers the Seljuk Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and modern Turkey. This second issue broadens the horizons of Turkish literature by including a major article on the relationship between poet and patron in the Ottoman tradition; an introductory history of Turkish theater in the era of the Republic; and review articles that critique from a variety of perspectives, including The Other Side of the Mountain by Turkish novelist Erendiz Atasü.
