Announced at the Awards Ceremony at Middle East Studies Association’s annual meeting in November, the Albert Hourani Book Award was established in 1991 to recognize outstanding publishing in Middle East studies.

Third prize winner of Qatar’s Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding in the Arabic-to-English category. The award was founded to inculcate a culture of knowledge, develop international understanding, and promote mature intellectual interaction and exchange between Arabic and other world languages through the medium of translation.
