Irish Studies Series
|
|
Founded in 1981, the Irish Studies list was the first of its kind in North
America. Studies of writers like W. B. Yeats, James Joyce, Liam O’Flaherty,
Seamus Heaney and Roddy Doyle have led the way. The series has been
distinguished by groundbreaking work in areas as diverse as archaeology,
cinema, Irish America, religion, language, the Six Counties of Northern
Ireland, dramatic history, women’s studies, and mythology. The first
university text anthology An Irish Literature Reader: Poetry, Prose, Drama,
now in a new edition, appeared under the Syracuse University Press Irish
Studies banner. Moving forward, we strive to complement traditional
strengths in fields like women’s writing and drama with innovative titles in
politics and the social sciences.
